Unfinished Sapele Stratocaster Body
Part of our new line in “tone wood” bodies, supplied unfinished, ready for some light sanding and finishing, this Sapele Strat body is a dream base for any vintage build.
Forget the finish for the time being, red, blue or green, doesn’t really matter, looking deeper into a guitar, you’ve got to take into consideration every aspect of what makes a guitar really shine, and a solid foundation in the wood, lending its natural characteristics to the overall tone on the final construction is the first step in that process.
Sepele (or Sapelli, or Aboudikro) is quickly becoming the replacement for true central/south American Mahogany( in a rare “eco” moment for the guitar industry, chosen for its availablity, and that’s something we’re keen to encourage!) Often sold as African mahogany, and also belonging to the Meliaceae family, Sepele is as near as you’ll get to mahogany (specifically this species, E.cylindricum )without going the whole hog and breaking the bank. It shares the same dense characteristic, the same grain style, the same weight and ultimately, the same tonal character.
Tonally, compared to something a little more common in Strats or Teles, you’re talking a much warmer tone with even more sustain, but just that little bit softer then your classic Fender twang, lending a slightly more aggressive tone when ridden hard, but much more gentle, middle rich feel when your looking for the finer things in life.

Unfinished Ash Stratocaster Body - One Piece
Part of our new line in “tone wood” bodies, supplied unfinished, ready for some light sanding and finishing, this One piece Hard Ash Strat body is a dream base for any vintage build.
Hard ash is one of the staples used in top end guitars – its harder wearing then its softer cousin Swamp ash, its relatively dense, its got a fair old weight to it, and its got that heavy grain that really lends itself to clear coating, but will require a thick finish to seal that grain up drum tight (alternatively, regular waxing will keep things on an even keel)
Tonally, Ash is the super wood when building Strats and Teles, its warmth, brightness and sustain really do get the very best out of the pickup configurations, Strats specifically become song birds, ranging from throaty warbles through to chirping highs.
Matched up with a Steel block Trem and Maple neck, you’ve got a great high strung Strat tone reminiscent of the 50s hay day, matched up with a zinc block and rosewood neck, you’re looking at a much more soulful tone that’ll make light work of most styles of blues and rock.

Transparent Ebony Stratocaster Body.
A beautiful example of what’s possible when you break away from the norm with a strat, this 2 piece swamp ash body is light as a feather, yet as tuneful as its chunkier northern brother Hard Ash and really does have that individual look that so many people crave when it comes to home builds.
All wrapped up in a sleek, sexy, semi transparent Ebony black finish, and sealed in a glass smooth gloss finish. The grain in the ash adds a real depth and subtlety to the body.
From the construction, right through to the specs, and topped with the gorgeous finish, this really is a top end body!

Orange Sparkle Stratocaster Body.
The orange sparkle is part of our new line in modern colours. First appearing in the late 80s and early 90s, this really is a marmite guitar.
It’s big, bold and brash to the Nth degree. The metallic fleck finish catches the light and flicks and moves in a tantalising pattern – under the right light, you can get a passable disco ball too.
Beyond the loud and proud sparkle, you’ve got a flawless orange cut through with those flecks, all wrapped around a light weight, hard wearing 2 piece Alder body.
For an eccentric strat, it doesn’t get much better then this.

Faded Fiesta Red Stratocaster Body.
Another classic colour from the history books, the Fiesta Red Strat stirs up similar feels to the other popular colours of the 50s- invoking images from the very birth of Rock and roll - all caught up in bright pastel colours and understated finishing touches.
Officially running from 1960 to 1969 in its first incarnation, but more then likely before then (although unknown due to a lack of records regarding custom colours), this is a base colour that that really has lasted the test of time, and is proving as popular today as it ever has.
Now available in the slightly faded version, somewhere between Salmon Pink, Orange and Fiesta Red.

Graffiti Yellow Stratocaster Body.
Another addition to our line from more recent times, Graffiti yellow is an outrageous colour as a standalone body, but it’s relatively easy to tone her down with some more subdued parts.
Again, cropping up sometime in the late 80s, early 90s, it was a break from the traditional wood grain and pastel finishes of years gone by. It was meant to be a new colour for a new generation of guitarists.
After all – life would be boring if we all liked the same things.
Again, beyond the colour, we’re looking at a bog standard vintage spec strat, built around our usual exacting standard.

Mary Kaye Stratocaster Body.
The first ever Fender custom colour! Officially debuting in 1956 on promotional material with the "Mary Kaye Trio" sporting the first examples of gold hardware on any Fender.
Built around a 1954 Strat and officially finished in "Blonde Ash", the guitar soon took on name of its first owner.
The colour has made sporadic re-appearances through the years in the form of re-issues, but the original really is the holy grail of strats.

Natural Stratocaster Body.
This is the blank template we use for our high end strat bodies - great for anyone looking to finish a body themselves or aiming for the charming, unfinished style. The real joy with these bodies is, unlike many unglossed examples, the wood work is absolutely pristine and will require very little work prior to finishing. A great foundation for a complete build.

As with most guitarists, we've drooled over many a sea foam green guitar. It’s a colour that screams California, surfing, milkshakes and sunshine - everything a Stratocaster should. A really iconic colour that begs for chrome hardware and a maple neck.
