Telecaster Neck Pickup Rings
A great alternative to a Pickguard for mounting the Neck Pickup on Guitars with that Special finish.
1950-1963 Telecaster Style Pickguard - Spec 1
The first incarnation of the Telecaster plate, arriving in 1950 on the dual pickup Esquire, the Broadcaster and Nocaster, then eventually on the first Telecasters in 1951.
Originally available in Matt or Gloss Black until 1954, when a single ply white version was introduced (although a few existed previously), and in early 1959 the 3 ply white version was released. Later the same year, the single ply plate was discontinued and all models featured the 5 hole, 3 ply plate.
By the summer of 59, the 5 hole mounting system was begining to be phased out, apart from a few throw backs and re-issues, replaced with the standard 8 hole setup totally in 1963.
The first decade of Telecasters still epitomises the guitar, in its hay-day, in its element, of its time and easily at its best.
A perfect fit for our Spec 1 control plates.

1963 - 1988 Telecaster Pickguard- Spec 1
Following on from the gradual phase out of the 5 hole config in 1959, the 8 hole setup has pretty much lasted the test of time to the modern day.
Initially created to combat the warping seen on telecaster plates in hotter climates, the extra stability provided by the 3 extra screws kept the guitar looking like new for much longer. The 8 hole design is sometimes credited to Muddy Waters, who actually fitted 4 extra screws to his Tele (most likely a re-sprayed 50s model) but dates are sketchy at best, so that will probably remain a legend for many more years.
After 1988, the only thing that changed on the plate was the mounting for the neck pickup. Instead of the pickup mounting to the wood beneath the plate, as seen from 1950 - 1988, it mounted through the pickguard (similar to the setup found on a strat).Other then that, the plates, remained identical.
Please note, we haven't drilled these plates for top mounting pickups, but drilling is a simple process if you want a post 88 Tele.
