50s Stratocaster Style Pickguard.
Originally available in 1954, in single ply white, this is the config for the first strats. Running from the very first models up until early 1958, more often then not in the same single ply white, despite other colours becoming available as the strat grew in popularity.
Since then many re-issues have been released aiming for that 50s charm, and 3 plys have become more popular in recent years due to their resistance to warping. With this in mind we've made our single ply plates thicker then the originals to avoid the inherent problem experienced on early strats.
A great part for that 54 or 57 classic strat build.

Late 50s/Early 60s Stratocaster Style Pickguard.
Running from 1959 to early 1963, this was the evolution of the strat plate, switching drastically away from the 8 hole config and getting more inline with the modern standard we see today. This is the transitional point which offered more stability and resistance to warping thanks to the extra screws and the introduction to a 3 ply plate as standard.
The plate was actually one of the defining characteristics on the 62 strat, along with the new style rosewood, slab board neck that make it such a highly sought after guitar.
Ply - Single or 3 ply
Colour - White, Black, Parchment, Aged White (Cream), Mint, White Pearl,Tortoise, Black Pearl, Red Pearl, Green Pearl, Blue Pearl, Cream Pearl, Single Ply White or Single Ply Black

Modern Stratocaster Style Pickguard.
Arriving in the latter half of 1963, this was the strat config that stood the test of time and has been in constant circulation for over 40 years. A slight twist on the early 60s design, with single ply plates completely disappearing from the options. Warping no longer caused an issue and the colour range was greatly expanded. Since this plate was released, the Strat plate has changed very little in its construction and for the most part USA, Mexican and even newer Squier Strats take this config.
Ply - Single or 3 ply
Colour - White, Black, Transparent, Parchment, Aged White (Cream), Mint, White Pearl,Tortoise, Black Pearl, Red Pearl, Green Pearl, Blue Pearl, Leopard Print, Yellow Marble or Cream Pearl.

Modern Fat Stratocaster Style Pickguard.
The evolution of the "Fat Strat" is a bit of a grey area, but the earliest examples began to appear as after market modifications in the mid 60s, but fender didn’t offer a humbuckers as standard in any of its guitars until 1972 in the revamped telecasters. Stratocasters didn’t see a humbucker bridge fresh from the factory until the late eighties/early nineties.
Other then the obvious addition of the new bridge pickup, the basic plate stayed pretty much the same as the post 1963 single coil version, and again, its likely that most Stratocasters built in Mexico and the USA will take this plate, as will some of the more recent Squiers, but be aware – it’s still worth checking against the specification diagram to double check, nothing is ever set in stone with pickguards.

Early 60s Fat Stratocaster Style Pickguard.
Another of the “modification plates” that have been seen through the years, where an early 60s plate has been changed to take a humbucker in the bridge.
Due to the relatively short run of the early 60s plate, its not as common as the modern Fat Strat version, but it still appears every now and then.
Ply - 3 ply
Colour - White, Black, Aged White (Cream), Green Pearl, Red Pearl, Mint Green, Tortoise Shell, Cream Pearl (Single Ply), Blue Pearl, White Pearl, Black Pearl or Parchment.

Early 60s Stratocaster Style Pickguard - Single Humbucker
Based on a late 50s/early 60s strat plate, and sporting the simplistic 1 pickup, 1 pot setup, this plate originally appeared on the Tom Delonge Stratocaster in 1999 (Officially…somewhat belying the heritage of the plate itself).
But, it’s been seen on a few custom builds and retro fits through the years, where the cut back design appeals to players who aren’t too fussed with fiddly tone controls and switches.
All in all, a great part if your looking for a no nonsense guitar.
