Modern Fender Telecaster Bridge
Typical Fender quality in this modern Telecaster bridge.
First introduced in 1988, this style of bridge made its debut on the new AM standard Tele released at the NAMM show that year. It represents the first truly successful "sister line" for the telecaster, and whilst Fender maintained a strong line of vintage re-issues sporting the classic 3 saddle ashtray bridge, the new modern version would come to define the telecaster in the coming decades.
Supporting milled steel block saddles, with a slightly tighter string spacing then seen on Telecasters previously, and the mounting screws being reduced to 3 for aesthetic reasons. Common complaints with Teles of old have also been address, namely, the new base plate no longer has the lip around the end, allowing better access and control over the strings at the saddle and the 6 saddle construction completely eliminates the intonation problems seen on most pre 80s classic Teles.
String Spacing - 52.5mm
Pickup Screws diameter - 3.3mm
Saddles - 6 x Steel
Height Screws - Alan Bolt
Intonation Screws - Cross head
Axesrus Modern Telecaster Bridge
Our take on a Modern Tele Bridge, this plate contains the now familiar set-up of string holes in front of mounting screw holes which has been with us since 1988.
Supporting steel milled saddles (52.5mm) to maintain that completely modern Tele look whilst not damaging the wallet too much. Intonation screw holes are also in-line with string holes so finding replacement saddles is far easier and cheaper.
Also, keeping with the Truly Modern theme this bridge plate fits with the simple rear 3 hole mounting, steel construction and a "lip-less" design to give access to the saddles.
String Spacing - 52mm
Pickup Screws diameter - 3.3mm
Saddles - 6 x Steel
Base plate - Steel
Height Screws - Alan Bolt
Intonation Screws - Cross head

Telecaster Vintage Ferrules
These are the standard Telecaster Ferrules, but it’s worth bearing in mind that the way they’ve been used over the years has slightly changed.
From 1950 through 1966, the ferrules were countersunk into the body, sitting flush in the guitar.
From 1966 until the Fender Management buyout in 1984, the Ferrules were no longer counter sunk, and actually sat proud.
Since 1984, the ferrules have been countersunk again.
It doesn’t alter the way the Ferrules work, but its worth taking on board for historical builds or repairs.
It’s also worth considering that although these are the most common form of ferrule in use on Telecasters, there are exceptions.
Available in Chrome, Gold or Black
Telecaster Bullet Ferrules
These Ferrules represent one of the exceptions mentioned above, initially run alongside the debut of Fenders bullet strings and slightly more common on hard tail Stratocasters, occasionally, the slightly narrower ferrule appears on Telecasters.
No real advantage or disadvantage when in use with regular strings, however, its argued that they provide a more stable platform for Fenders namesake strings.
Telecaster Smooth Ferrules
A smooth barrel ferrule which shouldn’t require any counter sinking to achieve a flush finish due to the shorter nature and lack of collar. Functionally, they’re identical to most other ferrules.
