Axesrus “True Vintage” Telecaster Pickups

Our take on that “Classic Tele Twang” in a beautiful 50s inspired set up, these really are some of our favourite telecasters pickup, offering up the bite and warmth we’ve all come to expect from the granddaddy of solid body guitars, just hitting the right side of raunchy when pushed that little too far.

A combination of strong Alnico 5 magnets and Plain enamel copper wire give a sumptuous, authentic tone in both the bridge and neck position, with a slightly muted middle and peaked bass/high ends yielding that perfect telecaster jangle every time.

Hidden under the bonnet, things just keep getting better. The bridge pickup sports a brass back to save on grounding issues, a black fibre board bobbin for that authentic look and string wound around the coils for protection. The poles are raised, but not staggered in a slight twist on the classic design too, giving a much stronger response on the high strings and helping ring out every last ounce of twang.

All in all, if that classic Tele tone is your thing, you won’t go far wrong with the True vintage Setup.

Axesrus "Heavy Heart" Telecaster Pickups

Basically, the “Heavy Heart” Telecaster pickups are a vintage setup wound for an incredibly hot modern sound. Just think ‘Tele on steroids!” and you’ll have a good idea of the final tone.

The bottom end is absolutely huge, the highs crisp and defined and the middle is slightly boosted, giving that characteristic big, space filling sound you’d expect from these larger then life pickups, but with that classic Tele warmth running through the sound. It’s a great combo giving a blistering heat to your classic twanger.

Built in a similar setup to the True vintage, these really are a wolf in sheep’s clothing; the bridge pickup sports a brass back to save on grounding issues, a black fibre board bobbin for that authentic look and string wound around the coils for protection. The poles are raised giving a much stronger response on the high strings.

All in all, if you’re a fan of the Telecaster look and feel, but find they sound a little weak for your needs, then this set could be a real breath of fresh air. Perfectly matched to metal, hard rock and very hot blues.

Here at Axesrus, we have a certain soft spot for Wilkinson Pickups. Their Top Quality and low price makes them an ideal upgrade for Mid Level Guitars that are in need of a little TLC. When we were offered these Vintage Voice MWT Pickups we jumped at the chance to get them on board.

Created to Catch that 60s Tele Twang, this matched set of pickups is the perfect way to get that tone and control without over powering a guitars characteristics. Offering Plenty of Depth in the Bridge and a Bright, loose feel in the neck, these pickups are a real work horse capable of dealing with whatever you throw at them.

The Bridge gives a perfect, short, sharp bark with plenty of tone when pushed into the the top of its range, and offers a muddy bellow when pushed down, and while not for everyone, it gives the pickup a really versitile edge. The neck is perfectly matched, giving that classic strat "string snap". Not a pickup for every Tele player, but very good for anyone missing that Strat chatacter in the Tele Body. Great for Beach Boys style, Chirpy, Barking guitar sound, played fast and smooth on a telecaster neck.

Once again, Wilkinson come up with the goods, creating Vintage Telecaster pickups with real guts. We feel these are in the same league as the Famous Broadcaster, but without the price tag. Perfect for Beefing up your Tele, but without losing what makes it one. A great compromise between Hard Rock Grunt and Country Twang.

Built to our specs for a Very Hot bridge pickup, in a Tele Body. Designed to give a red hot, distorted output every time. Again, not for every Tele player, but a great way to get that extra horse power out of a tele without losing that classic look. Perfect for Grinding chords with bellowing lows or Screeching solos with incredible sustain. The stacked design also has the added benefit of acting as a humbucker.
